JASPER — The Jasper Police Department placed a motorist under arrest after responding to a rear-end collision Monday afternoon.
Officers were called to the minor collision at 43rd Street and Mannheim Road at 3:26 p.m.
One of the drivers, Katie M. Stemply, 20, 1917 N. Mill St., Jasper, exhibited signs of impairment, according to police.
Police said a drug screen at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center indicated the presence of marijuana and benzodiazepine in Stemply’s system. Officers also alleged she was in possession of marijuana, a grinder, a smoking pipe and rolling papers.
Authorities booked Stemply into the Dubois County Security Center at 8:29 p.m. on preliminary misdemeanor counts of operating while impaired, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. Stemply posted bond Tuesday morning.
