Rangers, Patriots triumph

A couple of local girls basketball teams scored some victories Thursday night.


Forest Park traveled to Springs Valley, cruising to a 70-46 win along the way. The Rangers (2-0) were led by the senior duo of Macie Zink and Faith Zazzetti. Zink dropped a team-high 20 points, while Zazzetti contributed 14. Up next for the Rangers is Loogootee at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The game is Forest Park's home opener.

Heritage Hills visited Evansville Reitz, and came away with a 57-30 victory. The Patriots (2-1) were led by junior Rebekah Gordon, whose 28 points marked the third straight game she’s posted a season-high. Gordon scored 20 and 23, respectively, in her first two games. Sophomore Avery Neff chipped in 11, while senior Brianna Quinn had nine. Heritage Hills is scheduled to play South Central (Elizabeth) at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
