Ralph Vernon Michel, 83, of Huntingburg, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2020.
He was born March 24, 1936, at the family farm north of Dale, to Carl and Nila (Johnson) Michel. He married Doris Carey on September 5, 1959, in Brooklyn, New York.
Ralph graduated from Dale High School in 1954; enlisted in the Air Force in 1955 and was stationed in Germany until 1959; was a Certified Public Accountant employed at Buechlein & Associates CPA’s; and was an honored member of Jasper Kiwanis Club. Ralph was preceded in death by brothers, Earl, Kenneth, Grant, Carl Jr. and Darrell Michel.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris Michel; children, Brian (fiancée, Terri) Michel of Monroe, Ohio, Diane (Brian) Jones of Velpen, and Evan (Tracey Hunefeld) Michel of Huntingburg; grandchildren, Emily, Zachary, Alexzandra, Aidan, Jack; brother, Gene (Lula) Michel of Santa Claus; sister, Barbara (James) Hevron of Newburgh; nieces/nephews.
Funeral 10 a.m., Friday, February 7, 2020, at Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg, with burial at Dale Cemetery. Military rites by V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail.
Visitation 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Nass & Son Funeral Home.
