Railroad crossing closures set to start Monday

HUNTINGBURG — Norfolk Southern Railway Company will start closing various railroad crossings in the area Monday to conduct maintenance and repair work.

The list of closures for Huntingburg, in the order they will be closed, are 12th, Chestnut, Jackson, Van Buren and First streets; Ferdinand Road; and County Roads 200, 1000 South, 1100 South, and 1200 South.

Following those will be closures in Dale: County road 1200 North, State Road 62, and county roads 1900 North, 1800 North and 1750 North. In Lincoln City: county roads 1700 North and 1625 North. Gentryville: county roads 200 East and 150 East, Main Street, Base Road and County Road 1475 North. There will also be closures in Tennyson and Boonville.

Crossings will stay closed an average of two to three days, Norfolk officials said in a press release. Several crossings may be closed at once depending on their proximity to each other.
