Railroad crossing closings coming

From Local Sources

In the coming weeks, various railroad crossings in the area will close for two to three days.

Norfolk Southern Railway plans to conduct maintenance and repair work on the railroad.

Starting today, crossings in Illinois will close. The railroad company will work its way east along the railroad tracks, going into Princeton and Patoka before reaching the Dubois County area.

The crossings that will be affected in and near Dubois County, in order, will be at County Road 900 East, Third Street and County Road 475 South in Winslow; County Roads 800 West, 720 West, 650 West, and 600 West in Dubois County; and County Road 400 West and Styline Drive in Huntingburg.

Railway officials said that multiple crossings may be closed at once depending on their proximity to each other. Traffic control and detour signs will be put up when work is being done in the area.
