Raiders moving from 3A to 2A in basketball

From Herald Staff Reports

On Monday afternoon, the IHSAA announced its classifications for boys and girls basketball for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons.

While most of the local teams avoided any change, Southridge will be making a move in both boys and girls basketball as the Raiders will be heading down to Class 2A after spending some time in Class 3A.

Even though the sectional pairings aren’t known at this time, it’s quite possible that the Raiders could find themselves back in a sectional with one of their county foes in Forest Park. The sectional assignments will be revealed at a later date.

As far as the rest of the local teams go, there won’t be any changes. Jasper will remain in Class 4A, Heritage Hills in Class 3A, Forest Park in Class 2A and Northeast Dubois in Class 1A.
