Putney graduates boot campNovember 21, 2019
Private First Class Logan Philip Putney, 18, of Columbus, Indiana, graduated from United States Marine Corps boot camp at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, on Nov. 1.
Private First Class Putney successfully completed 13 weeks of intensive basic training at MCRD San Diego as one of 74 recruits in Training Platoon 1033.
Prior to boot camp graduation, Private First Class Putney was awarded a meritorious promotion from Private to Private First Class. Following 10 days home on leave, he reported to Camp Pendleton on Nov. 12 for one month at military combat training, which will be followed by Military Occupation Specialty School.
Private First Class Putney is the son of Clai and Janet (Astrike) Putney of Columbus and the grandson of Don and Margie Astrike of Huntingburg.
