Purses stolen from churchgoers’ vehicles in Ireland

IRELAND — The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help as deputies investigate thefts Sunday from vehicles at an Ireland church.

The sheriff’s office received two reports Sunday morning of purses being stolen from vehicles at St. Mary Church in Ireland. Police say items were taken between 9:30 and 11 a.m. while the victims attended church service.

One or more individuals took items from the purses and discarded the unwanted property, according to the sheriff’s office. Recovered items were located on County Road 400N near Kellerville Road and at Patoka Lake near the dam.
