JASPER — The Jasper High School PTO awarded three $500 scholarships to selected members of the 2018 graduation class. The awards program was held May 20.
Scholarship recipients were chosen based on a rubric that scored their involvement in school activities, honors they had received, community involvement, as well as accomplishments and contributions made to the school during their years as a student. Their GPAs also were a consideration.
All of the recipients are from Jasper.
Sarah Monesmith, daughter of Dr. Matt and Sherry Monesmith, is majoring in health sciences at Butler University.
Lydia Shepherd will major in elementary education and special education at Indiana State University. She is the daughter of Kevin and Marsha Shepherd.
Grace Werner is the daughter of Kevin and Gretchen Werner. She is attending Bellarmine University and is majoring in biochemistry and molecular biology.
