The monthly meeting of the Zeta Mu chapter of Psi Iota Xi was called to order by President Ginger Hedinger on April 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Jasper Group event room with 15 members and one honorary retired member present. Members recited the Opening Verse.
Patty Boeglin performed roll call with members answering with their favorite Spring time flower.
A thank-you note from Barb Berger, a request from Mryna Hall to change status to Inactive and an e-mail from Kathy Buschkoetter requesting Alumnae status were read. Members approved both change of status requests.
President Ginger Hedinger reminded members to fill out the committee sign-up form and return to Lynn Arthur.
Leisa Lowrey distributed the invitation for the May Installation Banquet. The Banquet will be held Tuesday, May 11th at the Schnitzelbank Restaurant with Social time starting a 6 p.m., the meeting and awards to follow at 6:30 and the meal at 7. This year each member will order off the menu when they arrive and pay the Schnitzelbank directly. The dessert will be provided courtesy of the sorority. Members should RSVP to Toby Jaent by May 4.
Lynn Arthur reported the Language & Literacy camp will be held at Shiloh Church this year.
Nan Mehringer reported for the Strassenfest Art and Wine Festival that she checked out the idea of more fencing for the Wine booths area. She recommended the booths be moved more toward the walkway instead of closer to the bank due to water issues if it rains. Lynn Arthur will confirm the committee received the updated booth application form for the web site.
Members approved donating to the National Long Term Project Fund which is the Psi Iota Xi Hear Indiana Scholarship.
Leisa Lowrey announced she has received a Secretary pin, membership pin and an officer guard from a friend. If anyone would like these, contact Leisa. Payment will be a donation to our club.
Joetta Jones advised the scholarship committee has received six applications. The presentation will be held on May 21 at Honors Day.
The state meeting will be held April 17, 2021, at the Crane Westgate, Odon, IN. Ginger Hedinger, Leisa Lowrey, Lynn Arthur, Deb Stemle and Patty Boeglin will be attending. Two members will be delegates, two will be pages and one will manage the sales booth.
The National Convention will be held June 25-27 at the Brown Hotel in Louisville, KY. There will be a Derby Hat contest on Saturday night. Anyone interested in going should contact Ginger.
The officers for the 2021-22 year are Ginger Hedinger – President, Lynn Arthur – Vice-President/Conductress, Leisa Lowrey-Treasurer, and Patty Boeglin- Recording/Corresponding Secretary.
Lynn Maitlen will host Lunch Bunch on Wednesday, April 21, at Los Bravos beginning around 11:30. Anyone wishing to attend should RSVP to Lynn Maitlen.
Deb Stemle won the door prize. April birthday wishes were extended to Patty Cox and Wanda Haas. The next meeting will be held on May 11, 2021, at the Schnitzelbank with the Awards/Installation Banquet following. Social time will begin at 6.
The meeting ended with the recitation of the Closing Verse.
