Psi Iota Xi

The Jan. 12 meeting of the Zeta Mu Chapter of Psi Iota Xi was called to order by President Ginger Hedinger at 6:30 via the internet/phone as a virtual meeting due to the COVID virus. The meeting began with the Opening Verse.

Patty Boeglin performed roll call with 18 members present. Patty Boeglin read her thank-you note for the donation the club made to St. Meinrad Archabbey in memory of her Dad, Tom Schnellenberger. Leisa Lowrey read a thank-you note from St. Meinrad Archabbey for the donation the club made in memory of Tom Schnellenberger.

Sharon Cox reported if the February meeting is held in person, we will play cornhole and have individually packaged snacks at the February Fling following the meeting. If the February meeting is held virtually, we may play an online bingo game for the February Fling. Members will be advised later if the February meeting will be held in person or if we will have a virtual meeting.

Paula Marshall is hosting Lunch Bunch on Jan. 26 at Ohana Restaurant at 11:30. Members should let Paula know if they plan to attend.

Ginger Hedinger advised the committee for the Strassenfest Arts & Wine Festival that the city committee is planning on having the Strassenfest and is moving forward with plans.

Ann Steffen won the door prize provided by Patty Boeglin.

January birthday greetings were given to Barb Berger.

The meeting was adjourned following the Closing Verse. The next meeting will be held Feb. 8 at 6:30 p.m. with the location to be determined as it may be a virtual meeting depending on the COVID virus.

Local fundraisers support our Language and Literacy Camp held each summer in the month of June, a college scholarship, Jasper Community Arts as well as other community projects. The main mission of the Psi Iota Xi sorority is promoting art, music, literature and speech and hearing.
