Progressive Cats dump Knights

From Herald Staff Reports

At a micro or macro level, the Jasper girls golf team is making strides.

In Wednesday’s clash with last year’s sectional runner-up Castle, the Wildcats (170) missed their season-best team score by just four strokes and collared a 13-shot win against the Knights (183) at Rolling Hills Country Club in Newburgh. The Cats have won all three dual matches they’ve competed in this season and avenged last August’s regular-season loss to Castle — Jasper’s last defeat in a dual match.

Annie Getzin’s 37 earned her medalist honors for the fifth time this year while Annika Harmon (40) and Sarah Ackerman (44) bolstered the Cat charge. Catherine Bell supplied a 49 and Madeline Hurst (50) filled out the Wildcat scoring. Bailey Bromm also fired a 56 against Castle.

The Wildcats will host county neighbor Southridge today at Jasper Municipal Golf Course.
