Program designed for parents, youth

DUBOIS — A Strengthening Families Program for parents and youth ages 10 to 14 will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, July 23 through Sept. 3, at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 5535 E. Vine St.  A light meal will be served. The program is free.

Strengthening Families focuses on strengthening families. Each week a family meal is provided after which youth and parents meet in separate groups followed by coming together for family activities. The program builds on improving family relationships, empowering parents and supporting youths’ social and life skills.

The theme for each week will be July 23, Love and Limits; July 30, House Rules; Aug. 6, Encouraging Behavior; Aug. 13, Using Consequences; Aug. 20, Building Bridges; Aug. 27, Protecting Youth; and Sept. 3, Celebrate.
