HUNTINGBURG — A Huntingburg woman went to jail Thursday when a probation search revealed the presence of drugs and paraphernalia.

Officers from multiple agencies were assisting Superior Court probation staff with probation searches in Huntingburg when contact was made with probationer Kenwyn A. Erwin, 40, 2010 Lincoln Village, Huntingburg, at a north-side gas station at 12:30 p.m., according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.

Erwin was in control of a Chevrolet truck and a search of that vehicle and her person found a syringe containing a clear liquid, a controlled substance and a white, crystalline substance, according to police. A subsequent search at Erwin’s residence allegedly found a meth pipe and a substance that could be used to defeat hair follicle exams, according to police.

Authorities booked Erwin into the Dubois County Security Center at 3:12 p.m. on preliminary charges of Level 6 felony possession of methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a syringe, possession of a device or substance used to interfere with a drug or alcohol screening test, possession of a narcotic drug and maintaining a common nuisance plus misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
