Jasper 60, Evansville Central 44: The Wildcats (1-2, 1-1) got their first win of the season Saturday on the road at Evansville Central. Senior Emma Shelton led Jasper with 17 points, while fellow senior Hannah Schwenk added 12. Junior Aspen Sermersheim joined her senior Wildcat teammates in this Southern Indiana Athletic Conference game.
Forest Park 64, Loogootee 56: The Rangers (7-0) continue to work that sophomore magic with a win against defending Class 1A state champion Loogootee. Forest Park's four leading scorers Saturday were all sophomores: Carley Begle with 16, Lydia Betz with 13 and Amber Tretter with 12.
Evansville Memorial 71, Heritage Hills 43: The Patriots (4-1) dropped their first loss of the season in this one.
Evansville Mater Dei 70, Southridge 55: The Raiders (0-1) dropped their season opener on Saturday. Seniors Colson Montgomery and Sam Sermersheim tied for a team-high 18 points, while fellow seniors Kaleb Wibbeler and Camden Gasser chipped in 10 points and eight points, respectively.
Jeffersonville Duals Day 2: Jasper went 3-2 on Saturday at the Jerffersonville duals, losing to Columbus East, 50-16 and Jeffersonville, 40-26. However, the Wildcats scored a 78-6 win against Jennings County, 36-28 victory against South Dearborn and 51-21 triumph against Evansville Memorial. Sophomore Jeb Prechtel went a perfect 5-0 in the 138-pound class.
