Prep Wrap: 9/27September 26, 2019

The Dubois County sports scene was at full throttle Thursday night, with game action as far as the eye could see. But in case you missed anything, here are some recaps of the night’s action.
Prep Girls Soccer
Wildcats 3, Pioneers 0: Jasper took to the road for a Big Eight Conference match, and the Wildcats came away with the shutout win over Boonville for their efforts. Kara Krueger had two goals and an assist. Reagan Mundy put in the other score for the Wildcats.
Jeeps 2, Raiders 1: Northeast Dubois ended its slump as they traveled to Huntigburg and defeated Southridge for the Jeeps’ third win of the season. Lexi Freyberger scored both goals for Northeast Dubois.
Prep Boys Soccer
Hatchets 4, Wildcats 3: Jasper endured a marathon Tuesday night, as the Wildcats duked it out with Washington for four scoreless periods. They were finally edged by the Hatchets in a shootout.
Raiders 2, Jeeps 1: Southridge picked up its third win of the season and halted the Raiders’ skid, in which they dropped four of their last five games. Noah Betz found the net for the Jeeps.
Jeeps 3, Jug Rox 0: Northeast Dubois picked up its third consecutive win after downing Shoals in three sets. Chloe Terwiske led the Jeeps with 10 kills and 30 assists to go along with 18 digs. Mia Smith led the defense with 26 digs, and Hadley Fuhrman finished with six kills and 20 digs. Taylor Dodd also had five kills and 16 digs.
Patriots 3, Commodores 0: Heritage Hills made it nine wins in a row as the Patriots took down Perry Central to stay on the right side of the win column. Rebekah Gordon finished with nine kills and four digs. Hannah Marchand had 25 assists, and Hannah Schnuck had 13 digs.
Prep Boys Tennis
Jeeps 5, Spartans 0: Northeast Dubois put on another clinic, as the Jeeps defeated South Knox to put another W in their bag. Reece Bauer and Tucker Neukam both swept their matches 6-0, 6-0, while Aden Thewes posted a 6-1, 6-1 scorecard. Ethan Ziegler and Luke Harder also swept the No. 1 doubles match 6-0, 6-0. Tanner Hurt and Ross Mehringer took care of No. 2 doubles 6-1, 6-0.
Prep Cross Country
Jeeps’ feet take top spots at Paoli: The Northeast Dubois girls cross country team took first place overall in Thursday’s Paoli Invitational. Jordan Schweikarth (20:48) finished at the top of the heap, while Sara Livingston (21:43), Shelby Livingston (22:41), Paige Wildman (22:53) and Sabrina Denning (23:11) all placed in the top 10. The Jeep boys took second overall, with Pierce Brinkman (17:41) finishing third and Ethan Btreitweiser (19:26) finishing in the top 10.
