A slew of games and events from the local high school sports scene occurred yesterday evening. We had a little bit of everything with soccer, golf, tennis and volleyball, and we have it all recapped right here to catch you up.
Tigers 3, Wildcats 0: Jasper gave it all they had for the first 60 minutes, but then a a cluster of goals for Evansville Memorial was enough to hand the Wildcats their first loss of the season.
Jeeps 5, Rams 0: Northeast Dubois posted a second consecutive sweep as they defeated Paoli last night. No. 1 singles player Reece Bauer along with No. 1 doubles Luke Harder and Ethan Ziegler and No. 2 doubles Ross Mehringer and Tanner Hurt did not lose a set.
Raiders 4, Alices 1: The Southridge boys tennis team bounced back in a big way as they took down Vincennes Lincoln in dominating fashion. Austin Barkely and Max Rasche held it down in the No. 1 and No. 3 singles matches respectively. Ethan Bell and Sam Sermersheim along with Konner Thyen and Levi Schaeffer also swept their respective doubles matches.
Wildcats 3, Tigers 0: Jasper opened up conference play against Princeton and got their first win of the season along the way. Reagan Egbert led all hitters with 10 kills. Kayla Fuhs had 12 digs and six aces, and Kate Green had 22 assists.
Blackhawks 3, Rangers 0: Forest Park travelled to French Lick and suffered their third consecutive loss of the season to Springs Valley. Macie Zink had seven kills and 11 digs to lead the Rangers in both categories. Kylie Gielser also had 16 assists.
Jones medals in Rangers match win: Forest Park met Tecumseh over at Sultan's for a bit of golf and took the dual match 221 to 229. Maya Jones tied Tecumseh's Kennedy Perry and Kilie Gresham with a 54 in three-way tie for medalist honors.
Raiders defeat Wolfpack: Southridge turned out one of their finest outings of the year so far as they beat Crawford County 202 to 221 in the dual match. Baileigh Schneider paced all golfers with a 37.
