Prep sports wrap: 9/18September 17, 2018

From conference soccer and tennis battles to a few road trips for volleyball teams, here’s a brief rundown of Monday’s prep sports action.
Spartans 3, Raiders 1: The Southridge boys soccer team lost a tough home match to South Knox on Monday evening as the Raiders saw their 1-0 halftime lead evaporate.
The Spartans were able to find the back of the net three times in the second half as they were able to come away with the comeback victory over Southridge.
Rangers 2, Rebels 0: In boys soccer action, the Forest Park boys broke a 0-0 halftime tie against South Spencer with two goals in the second half en route to the victory.
With the victory, the Rangers improved to 4-7-1 overall and upped their PAC record to 2-2. Goal scorers were not reported.
Chargers 3, Jeeps 0: In a match between two ranked opponents, Class 2A No. 12 Pike Central came away with a home victory over Class 1A No. 14 Northeast Dubois.
Pike Central scored two goals in the first half and added one more in the second half to seal the victory. Ethan Scott had two goals for the Chargers while Jacob Vest scored the other. The loss was the second straight defeat for Northeast Dubois.
Rangers 3, Rebels 1: In a Pocket Athletic conference battle, Forest Park cruised to a 3-1 victory over South Spencer in Reo on Monday evening.
Kenlee Gehlhausen, Emma Louden and Denai Sicard all scored goals for Forest Park in the victory.
Braves 5, Raiders 0: In a tough match, the Southridge boys tennis team was swept by Tecumseh in Huntingburg on Monday.
The closest match was at No. 2 singles where Owen Kinker lost in three sets to Pete Brucken 4-6, 6-4, 3-6.
Jeeps 5, Wolfpack 0: The Northeast Dubois tennis team cruised to a home victory over Crawford County at Dubois on Monday.
Victorious for the Jeeps was Reece Bauer (No. 1 singles), Ethan Ziegler (No. 2 singles), Luke Harder (No. 3 singles), Logan Mehringer/Lane Knies (No. 1 doubles) and Tucker Neukam/Ross Mehringer (No. 2 doubles).
Patriots 5, Chargers 0: Heritage Hills continued their strong season by yet another 5-0 defeat, this time over PAC foe Pike Central in Lincoln City.
Winners for the Patriots were Logan Smallwood (No. 1 singles), Josh Dellamuth (No. 2 singles), Zack Weaver (No. 3 singles), JT Smallwood/Luke Peters (No. 1 doubles) and Josh Nelson/Blake Sisley (No. 2 doubles).
Rangers 3, Spartans 0: The Forest Park volleyball team cruised to victory in Vincennes on Monday evening to the tune of a 25-13, 25-21, 25-22 victory.
Stat leaders for the Rangers were Ali Welp (eight kills), Kylie Giesler (10 assists), Allyson Werner (10 assists), Jaylyn Giesler (15 digs) and Kennedy Sermersheim (11 points, three aces).
Panthers 3, Patriots 2: In a very scrappy and up-and-down battle, the Evansville Reitz volleyball team came away with a narrow victory over Heritage Hills on Monday evening in Evansville.
With the loss, the Patriots fell to 7-13 on the season. No individual stats were reported.
