Prep sports wrap: 9/13September 12, 2018

Wednesday night wasn’t the busiest in terms of local prep sports action but several teams were busy with matches and games. Here’s a brief rundown of what you might have missed.
Cats fall short to Titans: On senior night, the Jasper girls golf team fell just short to Gibson Southern with the Titans winning by a narrow margin of 188 to 191.
Jasper’s Haley Schroeder was the match medalist with a score of 41 while Brynn Leinenbach (48), Bella Olinger (49), Madeline Springer (53) and Elizabeth Ackerman (55) followed.
Wildcats 4, Tigers 0: In a match that was rescheduled due to rain, the Jasper boys soccer team recorded another victory to remain perfect in Big Eight conference play.
Jasper scored two goals in each half against Princeton with Jackson Kabrick, Tyler Hunt, Brian Elizarraras and Jacob Mehringer all scoring goals in the victory.
Wildcats 5, Huskies 0: The Jasper boys tennis team cruised to victory over Evansville North in Jasper as the Wildcats continue to get ready for postseason play which begins in two weeks.
Winners for Jasper were Eli Franks (No. 1 singles), Michael Kluemper (No. 2 singles), Max Sternberg (No. 3 singles), Bennett Schmitt/Mitch Kluemper (No. 1 doubles) and Jobe Luebbehusen/Hudson Himsel (No. 2 doubles).
Raiders 4, Tigers 1: The Southridge boys tennis team has now won consecutive matches for the first time this season as they defeated Princeton on Wednesday.
Victorious for Southridge was Carson Mundy (No. 1 singles), Austin Barkley (No. 3 singles), Michael Kappner/Garrett Altmeyer (No. 1 doubles) and Alex Biehl/Max Rasche (No. 2 doubles).
