The Northeast Dubois and Heritage Hills baseball teams played on the second to last day of the regular season on Monday evening. Here’s a brief rundown of what happened in those respective contests.
Chargers 13, Jeeps 4: The Northeast Dubois baseball team was locked in a pretty tight battle with Pike Central as they trailed just 5-4 entering the seventh inning. However, an eight-run top of the seventh helped the Chargers pull away for good.
Logan Mehringer had a pair of base hits for the Jeeps while Ethan Ziegler, Ty Riecker and Eli Schott all had RBIs. Schott’s solo home run was his first of the season.
Mehringer took the loss on the mound for the Jeeps.
Patriots 12, Commodores 3: The Heritage Hills baseball team ended their regular season on a high note with a big road victory against Perry Central.
Cole Neighbors, Simon Scherry and Nathan Lamar all had multiple hits in the win while Scherry and Lamar combined to drive in six runs.
Mark Doyle improved to 5-1 on the season on the mound as he pitched five innings, giving up zero hits while striking out seven batters.
