Friday night was a good night for three area boys basketball teams as they all managed to come away with big road victories — two of them recorded conference W’s.

Here’s a brief rundown of Friday night’s boys basketball action.


Raiders 51, Marksmen 43: Southridge found themselves down 38-30 on the road at Tell City entering the fourth quarter. However, the Raiders outscored the Marksmen 21-5 in the final period to come away with a crucial road victory.

Jaden Hayes scored 14 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter while Colson Montgomery led in total points with 22.

With the victory, Southridge remains undefeated at 2-0 this season.

Rangers 54, Lions 40: Forest Park traveled to Loogootee on Friday evening hoping for a bounce back victory and they got just that.

The Rangers led by 10 points at the halftime break and kept their foot on the gas the remainder of the way to ensure they’d find themselves back in the win column.

The Rangers shot 56 percent from the field wit Curt Hopf leadign the way (16 points, 6 rebounds) while Isaac Uebelhor (12 points) also chipped in a solid amount.

Forest Park is now 2-2 on the season.


Patriots 101, Vikings 60: For the first time since 2011, the Heritage Hills boys basketball team cracked triple-digits in a road Pocket Athletic Conference victory over North Posey.

The Pats led 52-24 at halftime and didn’t slow down as a plethora of players chipped in on the scoring end for Heritage Hills.

Murray Becher tied his career-high with 30 points while Simon Scherry (18), Cole Sigler (16) and Blake Sisley (15) all finished in double-digits.

Heritage Hills is now a perfect 3-0 on the season.
