Precision skills

Alec Frederick, left, Joel Henson and Sam Henson placed fifth, Mason Sermersheim placed fourth, Jade Jochum placed third and Carson Hoffman placed first in precision machining at the SkillsUSA regional competition at Vincennes University on Feb. 2. The Pike Central High School students competed against students from the Southern Indiana Career and Technical Center and Princeton High School and advanced to the state competion to be held April 19 and 20 in Indianapolis. Students placing third, fouth and fifth received a $50 scholarship to Vincennes University. First place received a $2,500 scholarship. Zach Lueken, not pictured, also competed at regionals.
