Pollinator Walk for Local Bee, Butterfly Enthusiasts and GardenersSeptember 3, 2020
Purdue Extension of Dubois, Perry and Spencer Counties, Purdue Master Gardeners, and the Perry County Beekeepers are hosting a Pollinator Walk at the Carter Bottoms Trail Head in the Hoosier National Forest in Perry County on Thursday, September 17, at 6 p.m. ET/5 p.m. CT.
Purdue Extension educators, master gardeners, and local beekeepers will lead small groups in guided walks along a 1/4-mile path in the Hoosier National Forest. Guides will identify blooming plants and which pollinator species use those plants. It is recommended that you bring good walking shoes, a water bottle and a face covering.
This event is free with registration and open to the public. The parking area for this trail head is located on Gerald Road between Deer Creek Road and German Ridge Road in southern Perry County.
Social distancing practices according to CDC guidelines will be followed. Face coverings are strongly recommended at all times and required when social-distancing cannot be maintained. Hand sanitizer will be provided. The nearest restroom facilities are located at the German Ridge Recreation Area on German Ridge Road.
