Police work Dubois car-vs-deer collision

DUBOIS — An Orange County motorist’s car sustained damage in a Tuesday night collision with a deer north of Dubois.
Jackie E. Hinkle, 55, West Baden Springs, was northbound on State Road 545 in a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze when the 8:30 p.m. accident occurred 300 feet north of Dubois Road Northwest, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.
A deputy said the Hinkle Chevrolet sustained in excess of $2,500 in damage when it collided with a deer that came onto the highway from the east.
