JASPER — Police allege a woman wielded knife-equipped brass knuckles in a weekend attack against another female.
The Jasper Police Department was called at 4 a.m. Sunday to the report of several suspicious people in the Meridian Meadows neighborhood.
Police located the individuals in and around Bohnert Park and, after questioning them, learned of an incident that had allegedly transpired between Chelsea N. Hager, 21, 4614 Rhine Strasse, and a female victim at a Briarcliff Parkway address.
Hager was detained at that time at Bohnert Park.
Further investigation determined that, during a verbal altercation at the Briarcliff address, Hager allegedly made a threat toward the victim before attacking her with brass knuckles equipped with a knife.
Police say the victim suffered a leg injury and was also struck in the face before the two could be separated by others at the residence.
The victim left the house and went to nearby Bohnert Park. Hager followed and then officers arrived.
Authorities booked Hager into the Dubois County Security Center at 2:08 a.m. Monday on preliminary Level 5 felony counts of battery with a deadly weapon and intimidation with a deadly weapon, pluse a preliminary misdemeanor count of battery.
