JASPER — Police arrested a woman Tuesday morning and accused her of stealing charity campaign change from the Huck’s Food & Fuel convenience store at 555 Hoffman Road.
The Jasper Police Department was called to the store at 10:14 a.m. and reviewed videotaped surveillance during the investigation that resulted in the arrest of Julie R. Heichelbech, 57, 3828 N. Portersville Road.
Authorities allege Heichelbech dumped the contents of a “Caring For Kids” container into her purse, then returned the container to a different place on the counter from where it had originally sat.
The amount of the theft was reported to be $14.59.
Authorities booked Heichelbech into the Dubois County Security Center at 11:01 a.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of theft. She posted bond early in the afternoon.
