JASPER — Police ticketed a Martin County driver after a car-versus-SUV collision Tuesday afternoon on Sixth Street near Truman Road.
Jennifer N. Holman, 28, Monroe City, was eastbound on Sixth Street in a 2009 Ford Edge at the time of the 4:54 p.m. mishap, according to the Jasper Police Department.
Holman stopped in traffic and, when she did, her SUV was rear-ended by a 2010 Mazda 3 driven by Sandra D. Kline, 50, of rural Loogootee.
Kline told an officer she had looked away and then failed to see the stopped traffic in time.
Damage was estimated at $2,500 to the Holman Ford and $5,000 to the Kline Mazda.
An officer cited Kline for speed too fast to avoid a collision.
