From Local Sources
JASPER — One motorist received a ticket after a three-vehicle mishap Monday afternoon on U.S. 231 north of First Avenue.
Albert V. Rasche, 67, Jasper, was southbound on U.S. 231 in a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck at the time of the 2:32 p.m. accident, according to the Jasper Police Department.
Rasche slowed to turn into the Freedom Bank parking lot and, when he did, his truck was rear-ended by a 1995 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Betty L. Harrison, 80, Chrisney, according to police.
The impact sent Rasche’s truck into the driver’s side of a 2015 Ford Explorer driven by Haley F. Wilson, 22, Petersburg, as the Wilson SUV exited the Freedom Bank parking lot.
The crash totaled the Harrison Blazer. Damage was estimated at $5,000 to the Wilson Explorer and $1,000 to the Rasche Chevrolet.
An officer cited Harrison for driving too fast for conditions.
