JASPER — The Jasper Police Department reports taking an aggressive driver for a psychological evaluation early Tuesday.
Police became involved at 4 a.m. when a caller said a Dodge Caravan being driven aggressively and erratically had followed the victim from Loogootee to Jasper. Police stopped the minivan at 28th and Newton streets after it passed the victim’s vehicle in the turn lane and determined its driver was Tennis A. Tinkle, 75, of Loogootee.
Officers who took Tinkle to Memorial Hospital in Jasper for an evaluation said he will be transported to the Dubois County Security Center upon his release. He will be charged with aggressive driving, following too closely, unsafe lane movement, improper use of a horn and speeding, according to authorities.
That transfer to the jail had not occurred as of this morning.
