Police: Shoplifter caught with drugs

JASPER — Police allege a shoplifter was caught with drugs this afternoon.

The Jasper Police Department responded at 3 p.m. to the report of a woman who had possibly stolen items from the Shoe Sensation and Glick’s stores.

Police made contact with Ryanna D. Allbright, 30, Shoals, and determined she had stolen $29.98 worth of items from Shoe Sensation. During a search of Allbright’s belongings incident to the arrest, police said, officers located two syringes, one of which had a clear substance inside that field tested positive as methamphetamine.

Authorities booked Allbright into the Dubois County Security Center at 6:05 p.m. on preliminary charges that included Level 6 felony counts of unlawful possession of syringes and possession of methamphetamine, plus a misdemeanor count of theft.
