JASPER — The Jasper Police Department is asking for the public’s help as officers investigate a Saturday morning van-versus-pedestrian injury accident.
Police say the incident occurred at 5:15 a.m. at Ninth and Main Streets when a silver or gray van struck a pedestrian who was crossing the street.
The van left the scene after briefly checking on the injured pedestrian, police said. The vehicle was last scene northbound on Newton Street from the Ninth Street area.
Authorities note no information about the driver or vehicle was shared at the scene.
Anyone with information about the vehicle or driver is asked to call Jasper police at 812-482-2255 or the anonymous tip line at 812-481-COPS (2677).
