Police seek restaurant hit-and-run suspect

JASPER — The Jasper Police Department is asking for the public’s help as officers investigate a Friday night hit-and-run incident at a city restaurant’s parking lot.

At 11:50 p.m., witnesses say, a Dodge Ram 1500 series pickup with an extended cab backed into a wooden-frame sign in the Applebee’s parking lot at 4223 Mannheim Road. The truck was possibly a 2015 or newer and may have had a fiberglass bed cover, according to police.

The truck drove south on Mannheim Road before turning west on Baden Strasse.

Witnesses say the truck will possibly have rear bumper or tailgate damage.
