JASPER — The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help as deputies investigate a Saturday afternoon hit-and-run accident that left a Birdseye woman’s SUV with significant damage.
Lauren Davee, 21, Birdseye, was westbound on Schnellville Road in a 2004 Dodge Durango when the 2:50 p.m. accident occurred near Rustic Acres Road southeast of Jasper.
Deputies say Davee met an eastbound vehicle that was left of the centerline. The vehicles sideswiped each other.
The vehicle that left the scene eastbound on Schnellville Road was described as a gold- or bronze-colored, midsize SUV. The suspect vehicle will have substantial damage to its driver’s side, according to the sheriff’s department.
Davee was not injured but damage to her Durango was estimated at about $5,000.
Anyone with information about the suspect vehicle or the driver is asked to call the sheriff’s department at 812-482-4522. Callers may remain anonymous.
