JASPER — The Jasper Police Department and the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office are each asking for the public’s assistance as officers investigate separate leaving-the-scene incidents.
Police in Jasper were notified of a leaving-the-scene accident at Second and Clay streets at 2:45 p.m. Thursday. Officers say the suspect vehicle is an older model black Ford Explorer or Expedition that should have passenger-side front damage or even a transfer of light-colored paint.
One report indicated the suspect SUV may have left northbound on Newton Street.

Sheriff’s deputies are looking for anyone who may have witnessed an incident at 3718 E. Jasper-Dubois Road that occurred between Wednesday and Thursday that involved a vehicle causing extensive damage to a yard at that location between Jasper and Dubois.
Anyone with information on the incident near Jasper-Dubois Road and County Road 325E can call the sheriff’s office at 812-482-3522.
