JASPER — Police allege a Wednesday domestic dispute in Jasper turned deadly.
Jasper Police Department officers were dispatched at 6:03 p.m. to 1323 Newton St. to the report of a vehicle-versus-person accident. It was after officers arrived that police determined there was a domestic dispute between Joshua W. Rominger, 32, 1323 Newton St., and the female occupant.
Officers allege the rear wheel of Rominger’s 2006 Dodge Ram ran over the female as he was leaving the residence. The female victim who has not been identified was pronounced deceased at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center at approximately 6:50 p.m., according to police.
After the incident, Rominger refused to stop at the scene, police said. He was located and placed into custody at 8:21 p.m. in Paoli, according to authorities. Police say it was later determined Rominger was under the influence of marijuana.
Authorities have booked Rominger into the Dubois County Security Center on a preliminary Level 3 felony count of leaving the scene of an accident causing death while intoxicated.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police and a Ruxer Ford wrecker assisted.
