JASPER — A motorist avoided injury when her car ran into a ditch and hit a tree along a county road east of Jasper Wednesday morning.
Nikita M. Fischer, 17, Dubois, was eastbound on Jasper-Dubois Road in a 2008 Mercury Milan when the 7:15 a.m. accident occurred west of Beaver Lake Road, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said Fischer lost control of the vehicle in a curve. The car ran off the north side of the roadway into a ditch where it stopped after hitting a tree.
Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
