JASPER — A report late Saturday night that a female had been battered by a male in the CVS Pharmacy lot at 617 W. Sixth St. led to an arrest.
The concerned citizen call the Jasper Police Department at 11:49 p.m. Officers found the 2004 Chevrolet Malibu at the center of the report, as well as the female victim and the male aggressor, police reported.
Police said the female victim had obvious signs of injury.
The male, Anthony W. Votaw, 25, Muncie was taken into custody. Police said further investigation determined Votaw was under the influence of alcohol, with a blood alcohol content that tested .144 percent.
Authorities booked Votaw into the Dubois County Security Center at 2:07 a.m. Sunday on preliminary misdemeanor counts of domestic battery and operating while intoxicated.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police assisted during the incident.
