JASPER — Deputies allege a motorist encountered Friday afternoon on county roads between Jasper and Huntingburg was impaired because of drugs in her system.

A Dubois County Sheriff’s Department deputy saw a 2001 Dodge Durango sitting at the intersection at Meridian Road and County Road 130W for an extended time at 3:45 p.m. The SUV was not proceeding, despite there being no traffic, according to a deputy. When the vehicle did turn without a signal, police reported, it traveled left of center.

The driver, Lesley M. Toby, 42, 7807 S. 100W, was allegedly found to have methamphetamine, marijuana, Ecstasy and amphetamines in her system during a blood draw at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.

Authorities booked Toby into the Dubois County Security Center at 5:37 p.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated (drugs). She posted bond late Friday night.
