Police make Walmart shoplifting arrest

JASPER — The Jasper Police Department took a Huntingburg man into custody Saturday evening for allegedly shoplifting at Walmart, 4040 N. Newton St.

Police were called at 6:02 p.m. by asset protection staff who had detained Luccner Metayer, 33, 316 N. Chestnut St., Huntingburg.

Authorities allege Metayer took various items totaling $124.51.

Metayer was booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 8:20 p.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of theft. Metayer posted bond a short time later.
