Police make methamphetamine, paraphernalia arrest

From Local Sources

JASPER — Police arrested a passenger in a pickup truck Sunday and accused him of drug possession.

A Jasper Police Department officer stopped a Chevrolet Silverado truck at Sixth Street and Hoffman Road because its temporary tag was wrinkled, torn and not legible.

Police ultimately found a passenger, James S. Hunter, 49, 405 1/2 Main St., Huntingburg, was allegedly in possession of a small amount of methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe with burnt residue.

Authorities booked Hunter into the Dubois County Security Center at 3:49 p.m. on preliminary charges of Level 6 possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia. Hunter posted bond late Sunday night.
