JASPER — A Wednesday night traffic stop in Jasper resulted in an impaired driving arrest.
The Jasper Police Department stopped a Toyota Corolla driven by Mauricio A. Bolanos, 19, 36 Cedar Crest Court, Jasper, after an officer observed it roll through a stop at the intersection of Second and Newton streets. Police said the car also exceeded the speed limit and went left of center before it was stopped on Church Avenue.
Officers said Bolanos showed signs of impairment and later tested positive for the presence of THC in his system at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.
Authorities booked Bolanos into the Dubois County Security Center at 11:16 p.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated (marijuana). He was granted conditional release from the jail this morning.
