JASPER — Police arrested a man Wednesday and accused him of domestic battery with a deadly weapon, criminal confinement, sexual battery and strangulation.
Jasper Police Department officers were answering a call on the city’s north side late Tuesday night when a female victim reported a physical domestic alleged to have occurred earlier that evening.
The victim’s report to police included allegations that the suspect, Ezequiel Mendez Vega, 45, 510 Hickory Lane, Jasper, had at one point held a knife to her neck, impeded her breathing while confining her and committed a sexual battery.
