From Local Sources

JASPER — A Jasper man went to jail over a driving offense after a traffic stop Friday evening.

A Jasper Police Department officer reports conducting a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Tahoe at 6:31 p.m. after encountering it in the 3200 block of Main Street traveling at a low rate of speed with its hazard light flashing. The officer said the black SUV was impeding the flow of traffic.

During the stop, it was determined the motorist, Mario Dorantes Sanchez, 30, 3828 N. Portersville Road, Jasper, had never been licensed.

Authorities booked Dorantes Sanchez into the Dubois County Security Center at 8:54 p.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of driving while having never been licensed. He posted bond a short time later.
