Police jail Jasper man on driving offense

From Local Sources

JASPER — Police accused a Jasper man of a driving offense after a traffic stop early today.

A Jasper Police Department officer stopped a 2006 Dodge Stratus driven by Christopher F. Ohta, 45, 725 Margaret Drive, Jasper, at 1:24 a.m. at Newton Street and Schuetter Road because of an inoperable license plate light and the proper registration decal not being displayed on the license plate.

During the stop, it was determined Ohta had a suspended license and a prior conviction for driving while suspended.

Authorities booked Ohta into the Dubois County Security Center at 2:12 a.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of driving while suspended (prior).
