MARENGO — Indiana State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in Marengo.
State police investigators were called at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday to a shooting that occurred near Jefferson Street in Marengo.
An initial investigation determined Jason Hillesheim, 42, was at 406 S. Main St., which is the residence of Danny Eason Jr., police said.
While there, Hillesheim got into a physical altercation with a female. Police said the altercation ended on Jefferson Street with Eason firing several shots, with at least one shot striking Hillesheim.
Hillesheim was transported to University of Louisville Hospital via an Air Methodist helicopter.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Marengo Police Department, Marengo Liberty Volunteer Fire Department and Crawford County Emergency Medical Services assisted.
