The accident along U.S. 231 was reported at 3 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, north of Phoenix Drive, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy said a southbound 2014 Dodge pickup truck veered off the west side of the highway and struck a concrete culvert.
The collision totaled the truck that was registered to a Jasper resident but the person driving had left the scene upon officers’ arrival, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Huntingburg Police Department and a Uebelhor & Sons wrecker assisted.
The investigation is continuing.
