SULPHUR — Police have identified the men involved in a Sunday afternoon shooting in Crawford County that left one person dead.
According to Sgt. Robert Lambert of the Indiana State Police, Gregory R. Peals, 29, of Louisville was killed in the incident that also saw Ricky L. Phipps, 26, of Magnet injured by gunfire.
Lambert said the police are having a difficult time locating Peals' relatives to notify them of his death. He asks anyone acquainted with him to call the Indiana State Police post at 1-800-742-7474 or 812-482-1441.
The incident occurred at about 2 p.m. at 24950 Easy Street south of Sulphur.
This incident is still under investigation by the Indiana State Police.
Police say the facts in the incident will be reviewed by the Crawford County Prosecutors Office to determine if criminal charges are applicable.
