Police arrest man on molesting, related counts

HUNTINGBURG — The Huntingburg Police Department took a man into custody Wednesday afternoon on a Dubois Circuit Court warrant charging him with multiple counts of felony child molesting and multiple related counts.

Brian S. Bender, 30, 3980 W. Holland Road East, Huntingburg, is charged with eight counts of child molesting (Class A and C and Level 1 and 4 felonies), five counts of sexual misconduct with a minor (Level 4 and 5 felonies) and single counts of rape (Level 3 felony), dissemination of matter harmful to a minor (Level 6 felony), possession of child pornography (Level 6 felony) and attempted criminal confinement (Level 6 felony).

Huntingburg police launched an investigation June 15 in regard to allegations involving a juvenile victim that date back approximately six years.

A warrant for Bender’s arrest was issued Wednesday. He was booked into the Dubois County Security Center at 2:57 p.m. that same day and posted bond a short time later.
