HUNTINGBURG — Indiana State Police placed a man under arrest for suspected impaired driving after a weekend traffic stop west of Huntingburg.

A trooper stopped a 1997 Dodge truck driven by Mark A. Drescher, 50, 910 N. Jackson St., Huntingburg, early Saturday after observing it swerve between the centerline and fog line on State Road 64 while westbound out of Huntingburg and then clocking it at 67 mph in the 55 mph zone on State Road 161 while southbound from State Road 64.

Police allege Drescher failed to provide an adequate breath sample during subsequent sobriety testing.

Authorities booked Drescher into the Dubois County Security Center at 3:43 a.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated (test refusal). He posted bond Saturday night.
