Police arrest left-of-center driver

HUNTINGBURG — Police arrested a Vanderburgh County motorist Saturday evening and accused him of impaired driving.

The Huntingburg Police Department stopped a 2006 Dodge Caravan at State Road 64 and County Road 400W after allegedly observing the driver, Anthony Matthews, 51, Evansville, drive left of center.

Police said a blood draw at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center came back positive for opiates and Matthews’ blood alcohol content also tested .037%.

Authorities booked Matthews into the Dubois County Security Center at 8:19 p.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated.
